Not much changes to the other holdings in the list except for Metro and Shangri-La Asia, which had performed well for the past two months. Not much changes to the other holdings in the list except for Sarine Technologies, which continued to be volatile in its price movements and moved up a few places this month. Penny trendy boutique s are stocks that can be traded in the stock market at a very cheap price. I will also be looking to buy some undervalued blue chips as the recent market downturn had presented some opportunities to buy quality stocks at a decent price. The momentum is firmly behind renewable energy stocks like wind and solar, which are now cost-competitive with traditional fossil fuels in electricity markets. I did not do much for my CPF-OA unit trust portfolio except for adding onto my Japan, Indonesia, Asian Smaller Companies and Global Emerging Markets funds from the dividend payouts for my CPF-OA stock holdings.
I will continue to be selective in terms of my CPF-OA unit trust allocation with overweight positions in Asia and Global Emerging markets. I do not expect to grow my CPF-OA stock investment portfolio in a big way. There is also a limit on my CPF-OA stock portfolio due to the CPF stock investment limit imposed by the CPF Board. As I am unemployed, I do not have CPF contributions every month and therefore there is a limit onto how much I can grow my CPF-OA unit trust portfolio. I have also reduced my stake in some trusts and REITs like AusNet Services, Keppel REIT, Ascott REIT, Cambridge and MapleTree Logistics Trust. My stake in Biosensors was also being acquired via share amalgamation. Again, I have lost some companies through M&A activities this year, the most high profile being Keppel Land. Once again, thanks for the company and I really enjoyed those exchanges this year.
Shares of Citigroup C 2.59% lost $2.20, or 4.8%, to $43.68, posting their biggest one-day percentage decline in about a month, after the bank reported profit declined 34% from the same period last year. For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings – Saizen REIT, Del Monte, 8Telecom, Envictus, Techcomp and Mermaid. I have certainly done so and hope that all you readers out there will too as we grow together to become a better investor. It had been a year to forget in terms of investment returns and therefore I can’t wait to say goodbye to 2015. Hope that 2016 will be a better year for all you investors out there.
